Our history is really the history of two separate companies:
Software Service (CSS) and Briar Company.
CSS started back in 1982 being one of the first companies to offer an integrated billing and accounting package for security companies. While other companies were giving customer support over the phone, we took customer support to the next level by utilizing remote control software to control the customers' computer from our office and solve their problems and install updates. This technique would prove to cut down on support time and the frustration level of the customer. We also decided to put out monthly software updates based on customer requests and industry trends to ensure our clients had the very best business software for the industry. To satisfy our customer needs, we currently utilize a wide range of remote connection methods including: Symantec PCAnywhere, Remote Desktop, VNC, VPN, Putty, GoToMyPc and a few others over the internet and modem. We also give customer support by phone, fax and replying to e-mails.
The man behind the company:
Richard DeRonda Jr. "the current owner of CSS" really understands the point of view of the security dealer because he started off working for a security company back in 1988. While installing and programming Radionics panels, he also took a high interest in the computer work for the office and pleasing customers. He started working for CSS in 1991 where he concentrated on learning people skills, computer programming and how to give customer support that would leave a lasting impression. In October of 1997, Richard bought CSS from Tom Schuck and changed the business name to Software Service (CSS). Richard teamed up with Brian Roos in 2000 where we came out with our windows version software program. Richard has been married for over 17 years and has 2 kids.
Briar Company has over 35 years of experience in software design, programming and support to different industries such as the Security Industry, Escrow companies and Real Estate companies.
The man behind the company:
Brian Roos wrote C.O.P.S ECAL 2000, BOLD ACCESS, SECURITY OFFICE SOLUTIONS and FUSION. He is in experts in data conversion and data safety.
CSS had many years of experience in providing technical support to dealers but did not have the time to write the windows based program. Briar Company designed a windows based software program for the security industry but did not want to have to provide support to individual dealers. Thus, an idea was born. Briar Company would take the windows based software program they designed and have it work and look similar to the dos based CSS program and call it CSS Security Office Solutions by Briar. CSS would be authorized to sell this program and give technical support to the clients while Briar Company would provide technical support to CSS. On December
of 2000, CSS Security Office Solutions by Briar was being used by our first combined customer. Since then, together we strive to provide outstanding
technical support through remote control software. This allows us to find
and fix the problem ourselves and allow the customer to do what they
do best. We release frequent updates based on customer feedback
and industry trends.
